Filing Tips

• Start with dry nails to help prevent peeling.
• Use coarse grain to file nails to desired length and shape. Use fine grain to smooth nail edge.
• To prevent splitting, file in one direction only.

Buffing
1. Remove all nail enamel before buffing. Use the same back and forth motion at each step.
2. Even out: Buff vigorously across nail surface until stains and ridges are removed.
3. Smooth: Continue buffing to produce a satin-smooth surface.
5. Shine: Finish buffing for a natural, brilliant shine.

Tips for a Perfect Manicure
1. Shape: Start with clean dry nails. Use nail clippers to trim to desired length. File each nail from outside to center, stroking in one direction only. Never file sides of nails as this can weaken them.
2. Soak and Trim: Soften cuticles by soaking in warm water for five minutes. Push back excess skin with a cuticle groomer and trim with a cuticle nipper. Trim only excess cuticle. Never cut intact skin.
3. Finish: Buff nails to smooth ridges and create a soft shine. Massage moisturizer into hands. Leave nails bare for a natural, well groomed look or apply your favorite shade of nail enamel.

How do I take care of my skin?

There are 4 Basic Steps to properly take care of your skin.

Cleansing: You need a very good cleanser that will not dry out your skin. I highly recommend that you do not use bar soap on your face. Find something that your skin does not have any problems with and stick to it. I use Jafra Skin Care and have for years and I do not have any problems with the Jafra Cleansers.

Exfoliate: Most people do not exfoliate their skin and this is one of the most important parts of good skin care and should not be over looked. You should exfoliate your skin once or twice weekly to remove the layers of dead skin cells that tend to dull your complexion and make it look older than what is should. You will notice immediately after you exfoliate just how smooth and soft your face is.

Toner: I use a toner morning and evening as it removes all the remaining traces of oil, makeup and dirt.

Moisturize: Everyone no matter what age or skin type needs to moisturize! Moisturizers seal in moisture into your skin so that it doesn’t get dried out and looking aged.
